BABY TEETH RECOMMENDATIONS

Dr. Keith’s
Baby Teeth
Recommendations

RECOMMENDATION #1
Every time you give your child a body bath, get inside the mouth with a wet 2x2, gauze or a wet washcloth. Massage and wash inside the lips and cheeks, all around the tongue, the roof of the mouth, and all along both upper and lower gum pads where the teeth will form later.

BabyRECOMMENDATION #2
Use no toothpaste in your infant's mouth from birth until one and a half years old. All they will do is swallow it and get a negative systemic effect from the topical fluoride in the toothpaste.

RECOMMENDATION #3
Breastfeeding is fine. If you're bottle-feeding, never, never, never put your child to bed, daytime nap, or regular nighttime sleep, with a bottle containing anything but WATER. Make a promise to yourself that you will get your child off of the bottle no later than the first birthday!

RECOMMENDATION #4
Whenever your child has four upper and four lower baby teeth OR the first birthday (whichever comes first), please bring your child into the office to start their preventative program, so we can prevent ALL future dental problems!

REMEMBER! REMEMBER! REMEMBER!

  1. Everyday mouth bathing from birth.
  2. No toothpaste ever in your child's mouth until one and a half years.
  3. No bottle at naptime or bedtime. Off the bottle by age one.
  4. Start your child's preventative program when eight front teeth are in or by their first birthday.
